Dry Land Distillers is located in the heart of downtown Longmont, Colorado. Our home is in an historic, 1907 building on Main Street, an old bank building repurposed over the years.
Our production area is designed for small batch, craft spirits. We designed everything in our distillery to work with the ingredients we use and to work well within the historic building.
We use two stills – one is a custom-designed 200-gallon copper pot still fabricated by a local metallurgist and artist at Rod and Forge. The other is a 6-plate stainless-and-copper column still with a gin basket that we use for our Dry Land gins (and eventually craft vodka).
The stainless fermentation tanks can be either closed or open, allowing great flexibility in our process depending on the ingredients.
Our heat is provided from a low-pressure steam boiler. Indirect steam is a quick but gentle heat that offers great control over the mashing, fermentation, and distillation temperatures.
We completed the main construction in June 2018, and we celebrated or official Grand Opening in October. Our cocktail lounge and tasting room is open Thursdays – Saturdays from 4 – 9 pm in the back of 471 Main Street. You can get to our distillery and tasting room from our alley entrance (off of 5th Avenue) or through the Main Street entrance with the upcoming La Vita Bella Cafe. Don’t let any ongoing construction deter you from coming by! We are open while the cafe is being completed through November 2018.
